Ladies' Tango Silk x Kintsugi Watch
LVB140S1
Navy Blue/ Silver Case
A design which blends Japanese traditional technology that has continued for over 300 years with modern sensibilities. We introduce you to a collaboration watch with the long-established store "Yamato" of Tango Chirimen in Kyoto.
Tango Chirimen Strap
The fabric has an uneven creased texture that does not easily wrinkle, and has been used for high-end kimonos for a long time.
The material has an elegant luster with a supple and soft texture.
The texture of the fabric is created by weaving and refining weft threads that are strongly twisted about 3,000 times per meter.
The texture of Chirimen is made by alternately weaving right-twisted and left-twisted threads.
This texture softens the silk luster, brings out a supple feel and a soft texture, and creates a fabric with beautiful and vivid colors.
Kachi-iro Color
During the Kamakura period, samurai liked the dark indigo color, and the name "Katsu" was given the meaning of victory to make it an auspicious color. It is a color deeply related to battle.
Kintsugi Design Dial
The dial inherited the Japanese minimalism with a gold line inspired by one of the three most scenic spots in Japan ーthe famous Amanohashidate in Tango, Kyoto. The design was inspired by the traditional repair technique Kintsugi.
The local craftsmen were put in charge of this delicate line.
In Japanese mythology, it is said that Amanohashidate fell to the ground and became a land where Izanagi-no-mikoto and Izanami-no-mikoto met. The land is enshrined near the Motoise Kono Shrine, where the Sun Goddess Amaterasu Omikami has been once enshrined.
The dial's elegant design expresses the Japanese spirit by using the traditional ancient technique and fusing it with the mythological ambience of Tango.
Yamato
Yamato was founded in 1833 in Yosano-cho near Amanohashidate.
Certified as a "Kyoto long-established store" by Kyoto Prefecture, Yamato has been producing Yuzen furoshiki (square shaped wrapping cloth with Japanese resist dyeing technique) and pure silk fukusa (gift-wrapping fabric or a purifying equipment used in tea ceremony) for over 190 years with unceasing technique and trust.
Yamato's Chirimen fabric uses only A5 rank, which is the highest rank of silk.
Yamato’s weaving technique has been cultivated over many years. The fabric's strength and quality are different from general Chirimen.
